I am glad I got your new DVD because now I see how to do the scalp exercise. I do not know if this exercise will help to keep my eyebrows high but it is worth a try. The exercise for the front of my neck really is working. After just a short time I can see a difference in my jaw line. At least I think I can see a difference. I will have to take some photos and send them to you. The pulsating movement of the tongue during this exercise is the secret.

Your new dvd helps a lot since I'm more of a visual person and I'm able to see a demonstration of each exercise. Thank you for producing it, it came out well. You are living proof that these exercises pay handsomely. When you showed a side view when doing the neck exercise I was blown away, you look great at 78 : )

None of your half dozen exercises seem to be working so far except for the one for the muscles under the eyes. This one has really helped me to get rid of a deep line that extended from my nose outward. I know I'm doing the exercise right because I feel these muscles working under my fingers even though I don't apply much pressure. Do you apply much pressure with your finger tips? Now I wish I could do something about those nasolabial lines even though they are really not too deep yet. I hope the mouth exercise does not make them deeper. I'll let you know.

Tom, the DVD is a wonderful addition to your program. While I felt quite comfortable doing the exercises from your website, I do have the advantage of having dabbled in face exercises for some years so it might have been easier for me to figure out what was required of me than for someone who's never done face exercises. However, I was surprised at how even for me some exercises became clearer from seeing the video. Like the mouth exercise: while I did read that one was not to stretch the mouth, I must confess I think I still did stretch my mouth to an extent. But seeing you say it as you did it somehow made it clearer and helped me tweak the way I did the exercise.
I also like the pulsing addition to the front of the neck exercise. I don't remember pulsing being on your website as part of the exercise but I actually felt that if that made a difference in a good way. It was also great to confirm that I have been doing the scalp exercise correctly and the chin one.
I only had two complaints (disappointments?):
I was sorry not to see the winking exercise (Exercise One on your website) and its variations. While it is an exercise that requires PERFECT FORM otherwise one may get wrinkles from it, with patience and focusing on proper form, it is a very good exercise that seemed to work "quietly" yet effectively. Adding the scalp flex to it was a neat advanced version as was adding part B as explained/demonstrated on your website. So I was disappointed not to see it on the video--especially since I've slowly been building up to where the open eye is no longer almost shut but is clearly open, albeit not as wide as yours. So I would have wanted to see how effortlessly you're able to do it so well. I sincerely feel all the eye exercises on your site complement each other and are an essential part of the program. I think Exercise One would work well with the one on the DVD, and I plan to continue doing them since they haven't caused me any problems.
I am not sure I really understood the sixth exercise on the DVD and I imagine it may even be trickier to one new to face exercises. I think I do better when I see a clear explanation (as on your website) then a demonstration. Were you tensing your cheeks and then trying to bring lips together against that resistance? And are your cheeks in a raised position, sort of as one would have them in a smile, and then are you holding them in that raised position (flexed) and trying to pout against that resistance? I hope you will describe exactly what you are doing on your website for those of us who need things spelled out in order to grasp them.
Otherwise the DVD is invaluable. It is also an awesome testament to the effectiveness of these exercises because of how good you look. I know a lot of people who do not have time to do so many exercises found in other programs and to see that you can accomplish what you have with such a small number of exercises is very inspiring and encouraging. I'll be happy to spread the word.

Now, I must say how extremely impressed I was with the dvd -- the quality, the content and especially your delivery. Very few people can appear as natural as you did, and deliver content so easily without years of experience. I'm still amazed.
My only criticism, which is really a backhanded compliment, I guess: You look too young to be believable!!!! By that I mean, your face is so clear, tight and smooth -- it might be hard for a viewer to believe you haven't been under the proverbial knife at some point in time.
That said, anyone who orders your dvd -- no matter what how much they might question your age and appearance, will, no doubt, still perform the exercises since they have an investment in doing so....and, as you say, if they keep it up for 8+ months, perhaps they will discover for themselves that you really can achieve an appearance like yours by doing your exercises.
I wanted to see the dvd before reading the manual.....so I'll start that today.
Thank you so much for sending me both.

i am concerned because i have been exercising nearly every day and when i compare photographs from then to now, i don't see any change, nothing.
i am using a facial device as well. i wonder if some faces do not improve, just stay the same. my double chin does not budge nor the sides of face, no lift at all.
you have so much lift in your cheekbones and i have been exercising for years off and on, i can't seem to build structure like you have.
thank you for the time judy

Hi Tom, Ive been doing the exercise for the front of the neck since I first came to your site over a year ago. Ive been doing it right but was not focusing on the pressure of my tongue till I studied your dvd. That pulsating pressure of the tongue against the roof of the mouth is the secret. I still have some fatty tissue under my chin but the muscles under the skin now look tight, a lot better than when I first started. The exercise for the chin muscle has helped me too but I just cant do the scalp exercise no matter how hard I try. I want to do it but I cant. Stephanie C on Tuesday, August 17, 2010
I have only been doing your exercises for a month, so obviously it is too soon to see any difference in lines and wrinkles. But I do like them, the way they feel, and will continue.
I am in my 50s and have noticed lots of hair coming in on my chin and jaw, most coarse, some fine. I would puck them out several times a week. It was a hassle and sometimes I would miss one, only to be embarrassed later. Then there were the "surprise" new hair, on other parts of my jaw, that I wouldn't find until they were quite long.
But about two weeks after starting the exercises I noticed the hairs are going away! I only have a couple left. They are not growing back now after plucking. Also my left eyebrow was sparse from the middle to the end and it is starting to fill in and look normal. The hair coming in is of the same color, texture and diameter as the normal, healthy hair of my eyebrows.
I wonder if doing these exercises bring blood and lymph to the facial area and balance the hormones and carry out excess hormones. Also the blood would carry nutrients and oxygen, and carry off excess CO2.
So this is exciting to see and encourages me even more! A benefit I never guessed would happen. I wonder if any other women have had this happen, or even men who had thinning eyebrows restored. Thank you so much Thomas for putting together this site and sharing your valuable knowledge. I will post more about the exercises and their effects on me as the months go by.

Dear Thomas Hagerty,
I came across your website late last year and started the Facial exercises. However I must have done them wrongly cos I got a v wrinkled forehead in about two months, I think I was doing the frontalis lift bit way too vigorously. My forehead now looks like I’m 40 years old and I’m nowhere near that.
However I must admit my face was looking quite relaxed, I got the pleasing eyebrow lift you talk about so much on your website, for which, many thanks J.
And also I gained control of the occipitalis muscle, took about two weeks, with much discouragement but knew I would get there in the end, just like you say, I used the pillow method, again many thanks.
I want to start doing them again consistently as i think, nah, I know yours is the only real understanding of how to keep the face forever 18.
Hope to keep looking as good as you do. I believe you have discovered one secret of the fountain of youth.
Your website is really quite a bomb, v informative, thoroughly researched, well presented and fun. And you are a generous old soul to share it with us.
With my hand on my …….eh.. Occipitalis,
Agnes

Hello Tom,
Hope this finds you well. I just wanted to let you know that I've been doing the neck and jaw exercises from the DVD now since Christmas and the improvement is incredible. Seriously, I was surprised, but even my husband noticed, and he never notices anything.
My jawline is tighter and the marionette lines are fading. The Turkey-Lurkey Wobbly thing under my chin (I have no idea what to call it!) was never very pronounced but it's tightening up as well.
The best thing though are the horizontal lines that ran around my neck in a circle. I've got two: one near my larynx and one about an inch and a half lower down. They're both fading and the bottom one is almost completely gone.
My neck has been showing some signs of aging for a few years now and honestly now I think it looks like it did about five years ago.
I still am having some problems with the scalp exercise, but I'm getting there slowly.
THANK YOU!!!!!
Summer
Dear Tom,
This is a very belated thank you for your amazing website. I have been doing the exercises diligently and haphazardly since August 2010, and there is no doubt that there is a difference. You should see me driving down Hwy 89A between Sedona, AZ and Cottonwood, AZ...I'm a master of that scalp massaging, ear bending exercise, while I'm driving! Gadzooks!
I am going to be 51 years old this year. Two months ago, I was in the grocery store with my 24 year old daughter, and the clerk asked me for my ID when I was buying wine. I laughed, because I know sometimes there are sweeps of police in the area to see whether the clerks are selling alcohol to underage people, so clerks have to ask for IDs no matter what. The clerk got a bit edgy and demanding and said, "Ma'am, I'm not kidding. I need to see your ID." I laughed again and said, "Okay. This is my 24 year old daughter with me. I'm more than twice the legal age." He looked at the ID, then at me, then at the ID, then at me, and stammered, "Uh...uh...okay...I wouldn't have guessed you were more that 27..." and he nervously continued scanning groceries. I smiled and laughed again and said, "You are my new best friend!" He finally relaxed and smiled back.
Okay, so maybe some people will say, "Yeah, he was trying to pick up on her 24 year old daughter." Maybe, yeah. She's a beauty.
BUT, does this explain others who say, "What kind of skin care products do you use?" Or, my mother saying, "Honey, what are you doing to your face?"
OR, frankly, it's all about me. I look in the mirror and I say, "Yeah, finally, THAT'S ME!"
I'm not trying to look drastically young or different. I'm just trying to look my best. I work out the rest of my body, and working out the muscles of the face makes total sense to me. My Mom taught me this when I was 14 years old. There was a book by some woman whose name I can't remember, about facial isometrics. I've done those exercises on and off for years.
But, Tom, your website is the most comprehensive, honest, and REAL presentation I have ever encountered.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. I intend to put a link from my website to yours when I get diligent about fixing my "links" page.
Bless you and yours, most sincerely,
Summer

All in all, I am very impressed with the exercises and can feel a difference under my chin with your neck exercise. You certainly do not look 78, but the way you can do your scalp exercise leaves me breathless!! Thanks very much for excellent DVD and advice. Best wishes, Alison

Hi Tom,
I have been doing the exercises for 10 months now and am really seeing results! My husband noticed results after about three months, he said I looked younger and my skin smoother. Last week I was having dinner with a friend and she was startled at how different my skin looks. She kept bringing it up! I didn't tell anyone I was doing this so this was an unsolicited compliment. I can tell people are assuming I am younger than I actually am. I don't bother to correct them. =) Also nobody tells me I look tired anymore, something I used to hear a couple of times a week, even when I was refreshed.
I have noticed the bags directly under my eyes are completely gone now. They were really noticeable before. There is a 'pouch' still over the cheekbone of my right eye but it is less. The wrinkles around both eyes are also going away. I am using a good quality lotion on my wrinkles at night, and a skin lightening lotion on my sun spots. Like the exercises, they work, but slowly.
The nasolabial folds are really disappearing. I am just delighted at the progress there, as I thought I would have to resort to plastic surgery. My forehead is tighter also. But like you warned, none of this happened quickly. But the exercises become a quick and simple routine, I will sometimes say positive affirmations as I do them.
Interestingly, the hair on my chin is still becoming thinner, only a couple of hairs left. My left eyebrow is now completely filled in and balanced with the other brow. I only had half an eyebrow there when I started these exercises.
So thank you so much for your site. I saw you posted my first email so I wanted to update you. I am looking forward to seeing perhaps even more results over the next few months.
Sincerely, Stephanie C.

Mr. Hagerty-
I wanted to write you and provide a quick update as to my progress so far with the face and scalp exercises.
The results so far have been very impressive, especially considering that I have not been at it for very long and that my two stints of activity have been separated by several weeks of sporadic exercise. I am particularly impressed by the effects of the facial exercises. Within two or three days (!) of starting them I notice significant changes in the tone of my face. I get a great burn during the sessions, and my face feels nice for the rest of the day, just like any other muscle that has gotten the stimulation of a good workout.
I'm particularly impressed with these results as I'm only 23 and have a fairly strong facial structure as it is. I was aiming more for maintenance and the general self-improvement that comes with having a healthy routine, but I've actually gotten very visible results with only 100 quick repetitions of each exercise 6-7 days a week.
I'm still working on mastering the scalp move, but I am getting better. I go for 1-2 sets of 100 reps each day, focusing on that last part of the pull when you feel the lazy part of the muscle atop the head start to activate. Results so far have been a pleasant feeling scalp and a compliment from my hair stylist that my hair looked shinier than usual. As I haven't changed shampoos or done anything else differently, I can't help but attribute this change to the scalp exercise. I don't doubt for a minute that it is what's responsible, as my scalp just feels much healthier now than before (I have an awareness of it now, as though I can sense the blood flow, whereas if I skip the exercises I don't feel it as much and it seems almost stagnant).
I think the biggest obstacle in reaping the benefits of this program is simply sticking with it. It's very easy to get off track, but the investment in time is so small and the results are so quick that with a little motivation anyone ought to be able to stay with it. Thanks again for sharing this information with me, and I look forward to updating you with further progress soon.
Be well sir, Steve S

Hello Tom,
I have been doing the exercises that I found on your site. I like the way my face feels after I exercise the muscles as you suggest. My face feels happy and nourished : ) I love to exercise my body. I am an avid walker, hiker, enjoy yoga and stretching. These activities help to keep my body toned and flexible. I feel they are taking me in the direction of good health. Tom, this is no understatement - the discovery of these exercises has changed my life. The eye exercise (1st one) has changed the shapes of my eyes to where they now look less cross-eyed, and weak, and now more attractive and strong, awesome. I am able to physically look people in the eyes better, make much better and more confident eye contact with them. It has made my eyes FEEL a lot better too, more healthy.
And the scalp exercise is great, it gives a great pump of blood to the head and brain, and Makes the scalp just feel better. For me it has detached the scalp muscles from the neck muscles more, to where I can now move my head around better, feel more alive. Previously I was doing it too alternatively, that is I would switch too slowly from contracting the frontalis and occipitalis. I started doing it the way you do it in the video, more quick-like and its providing a much better pump for me.
After this I am pretty confident I can regrow my hair, I'm also taking L-Methionine which has changed the texture and strength of my hair. I am young and diet very healthy, so I'm hoping so.
The front neck exercise: also very good results. Though the form must be figured out and done carefully each time, so that I am doing it effectively. Kind of annoying to have to concentrate that much but if practiced diligently it does make me look super sexy! Thanks again for figuring out all these ways to change our looks and health!!

Hello Tom,
I´m writing to tell you that your exercise for the muscles around the mouth are incredibly efficient! thanks for putting it in you website! It´s the critical point in my face!
And I can move a little my occipitalis "already"! I can notice my vertical lines between eyes fading away.

Hi Tom, Just finished your facial exercise video. Its great. I'm an exercise physiologist and can't believe I haven't put thought into the face before!! Clients come to me to feel and look good, as well as move pain free. We put such an emphasis on limb and torso muscles, deep core activation etc, but rarely on the face. The antagonist movements you recommend make such sense. After performing them for mere minutes my face was 'pumped'!. It was amazing. I can't remember a time it felt like I had real muscle activation under there. Thanks again. I'll recommend your program to all. Thanks again. Ross

Dear Tom,
I’m writing to thank you for publishing such a wonderful website about facial exercises and skincare. Unlike so many other facial exercise trainers, you offer full step-by-step instructions with pictures for free! I want to let you know how invaluable this information has been to me. Your website taught me so much about skincare and opened up many doors.
A couple of years ago, I stumbled upon your website after doing a search for how to eliminate nasolabial folds. I started to do all of your exercises for about a couple of weeks (even though I originally only set out to focus on one area) and let me just tell you… the changes were amazing. I didn’t realize how much of a positive impact your exercises had until I saw myself in pictures. The last time my eyes were this wide and awake was when I was a toddler. I actually wasn’t aware of how tired my eyes had become over the years until I saw them at their full potential.
Since I discovered your routine, I discovered some other well respected programs, but I always come back to yours. In fact, I’d say yours has given me quicker and more dramatic results; a routine that you so graciously posted for free. Also, I haven’t seen any other trainer teach scalp exercises, and that information is priceless. Thank you for changing my life and I hope you continue your wonderful work.
Sincerely,
Amanda

Hi Tom,
Love your program, and the difference it's made to my appearance after 6 weeks. I'm a 40 year old male and tried a couple of other programs, but these were more complex with a multitude of relatively ineffective exercises. I like your idea of having only 5 core exercises; similar to weight training programs that stick to the tried and trusted heavy duty core exercises such as deadlifts and squats. It's simple, but more effective.

Honest Voices
All these testimonials are by real people who have written emails to me. They are not the work of my imagination.
I hope more people send me their thoughts about how the facial exercises are working - positive or negative. From these ideas I can improve the program and clarify some of the concepts.
Negative testimonials are especially instructive because they let people know that good results are not inevitable. Some people's faces do not respond to even the best programs.
I think my program is worth a shot, though, because I've seen excellent results in many people who have done the exercises correctly for a period of time.
