Re: Devices such as Face Master and Dermawand
Even though I've never tried any of the devices you mentioned, I'm going to give you my opinion. But if you're seriously thinking of getting these devices, it would be a good idea to check out some testimonials from people who use them. Don't rely, though, on testimonials posted on the websites that sell the devices.
Face master and Dermawand are radio frequency treatments. The devices produce slight contractions of the facial muscles. I don't think these delicate contractions are of sufficient force to tone up the muscles. However it's probably better than nothing.
Light Stem is a light therapy device that supposedly stimulates the skin's natural collagen production. My only suggestion here is to study the biology of collagen production and decide for yourself if this pricey bit of equipment is effective. Read the excellent articles about collagen and other topics by Dr. Todorov on SmartSkinCare. His informative articles on skin care are the real thing - honest and intelligent. Take a look at Dr. Todorov's forums too.

Re: Devices like Face Master and Dermawand
I bought these several years ago. Not so great results, as you predicted, which is what led me to research facial exercises and find your great website! I'm really starting to think that whatever positive results I did get were because of the facial contortions I had to make while using the devices. But there is one exception: the led red light therapy transformed my eye area. I no longer have bags under my eyes, dark circles, crowsfeet or hooded upper lid. Other undereye
wrinkles have significantly decreased. It definitely works around the eye area. Also, the light therapy device clears up blemishes in a couple of days, reduces redness caused by sensitivity to skin care products or other causes. Helped my skin tone, too. But did nothing for other wrinkles, nasal labial folds, or sagging!

Tell us the name of this product. Your testimonial sounds credible. If it really is all you say, I may give the device some free advertisement on this site. But there is one exception: the led red light therapy transformed my eye area.

The Pretika Light Sonic is the one I've been using for about 3 weeks on a daily basis. I remembered I had it after I overdid it with an abrasive facial scrub and my face was extremely red and irritated. In 2 days the device healed my redness and soreness and the facial scrub went into the garbage can.
I had already gone to Dr. Todorov's SmartSkinCare site before I found your site. I thought his view on LED light therapy sounded pretty positive. I also read consumer reviews at several sites about a similar (but much more expensive device, LightStem) and they sounded encouraging as well.
Anyway, I also researched and found that LED light plus Ultrasonic waves can give better results because ultrasound waves work better for skin firming. I just bought a new device that has both LED 3 color light settings (red, blue, and green) plus 3 MHz ultrasonic waves and does both therapies at the same time
or separately. It plugs into an electrical outlet instead of relying on batteries like the Pretika Light Sonic. If you are interested, I'll give you a review of the new device after I've used it for a couple of weeks.

Re: Devices such as Face Master and Dermawand
Quick update. I definitely like the Pretika Light Sonic better around the eye area. Here's why. This device allows me to press the lighted head directly against my skin, and the light does not enter my eye as I move it around the eye area. I get great results that way. The other device (I'll call it the Photon from now on) has an ultrasonic head in the center of the lights that keeps the lighted part of the device about 3/4 inch away from the skin. When I use it around my eyes, I have to use the goggles that came with it, otherwise the bright light hurts my eyes and I'm scared I'll damage them.
On the other hand, I do think the Photon ultrasonic setting is making my skin more firm along the jawline, but it's too soon to know for sure.
I trust the facial exercises, but I think I will do them in conjunction with these 2 devices and I can do the exercises while I'm doing the light therapy. I really think the light therapy is rejuvenating my skin, making it clearer and firmer.
Like the facial exercises, the devices take time to work (the information I've read says 6 to 8 weeks for initial results and 20 weeks for highly visible results.
Good grief! I hope my aging process doesn't go at a faster rate than the procedures I'm using. At best, maybe I'll just slow it down. But when I look at your pictures on this website and how great you look, it gives me encouragement and hope. Thanks again for sharing with everyone for free. You should feel very good about the help and hope you've given so many!

Re: Face Master, DermaWand & LED Light devices
Here's an update. I skipped the LED light therapy for about 4 days and just did the facial exercises. I loss some of the firmness and density under my eyes I had gained from using the LED light alone before I knew about the facial exercises. I could definitely see the difference, so I am not going to skip more than one day at a time of LED light therapy.
