I just turned 47 and I have the crows feet(not too bad) with the jowl look a bit on my left side. Very minimal sun damage around bottom eyelids. Is it too late to start facial exercises and show significant correction of these areas? I know I'll never look like I'm in my thirties again but who knows. |

Tom R: Forty-seven years of age is certainly not to old to start a facial exercise and skin care program. The five exercises I describe on my website get all areas of the face and the front of the neck. Four of the exercises are easy to do; the fifth exercise for the scalp muscles is not easy, but I think it's the most important exercise because it keeps the brow from falling. You have, "Very minimal sun damage around bottom eyelids." I'm sure you know enough to stay out of the sun these days. The rays of the sun, especially the UVA wavelength, causes ongoing damage to skin cells. New research, however, has strongly hinted that several phytonutrients in blueberries, black raspberries, and blackberries can actually reverse the photo-aging of the skin. No, you'll never look like you're in your thirties again, but you can definitely tighten up your facial muscles and improve the appearance of your skin. Removing crows-feet? I don't know about that. It's possible but no guarantees. |

Thank you Tom! Your exercise program is very practical and not tedious like the many others I have seen. I've been focused on doing the scalp exercise and find that the only way, for right now, that I can get the occipitalis to move is by raising my eyebrows up and down and I can see the tips of my ears move slightly. So there is progress. As for staying out of the sun, thats a tough one because I love to hike and I've loved the beach since I was a small child. I am very generous with the sunscreen though plus I wear sunglasses and a ballcap when hiking. |

Tom R, I don't think it's ever too late. Both Carolyn Cleaves and Eva Fraser started face exercises in their 50's and their faces today are a true testament that it's never too late. Take a look at their photos: Carolyn's pictures--including ages--through 2008: http://www.carolynsfacialfitness.com/MorepicsofC.html Eva (born in 1928) as she looks in 2008: http://www.evafraser.com/images/eva_fraser_photo.jpg |

I believe it! Hooray for facial exercises. I don't care what those cosmetic surgeons say. Thanks for those photos : ) |
