Martin K: When you are doing the scalp exercise correctly, nothing moves except the scalp. The only muscles that are contracted are the frontalis muscle at the front of the head and the occipitalis at the back of the head. But when you are first learning the exercise, when you are trying to gain control of the occipitalis muscle, you might have to tense other muscles like the jaw, neck, and cheek muscles. This sometimes helps in gaining control of the stubborn occips. I realize that exercise five is hard to learn. It's worth the effort though, both for the upper face and for your hair. Don't give up on this one. |

It is more than worth the effort to learn how to do the scalp exercise. The benefits are great - higher eyebrows, unlined forehead, expressive eyes - and the list goes on. Once I gained control of the occips - a tough job - the exercise was and is almost fun to do. |
